Point Loma Hostel Open House and Travel Poetry Reading

May 8, 2008 - 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.

The local community is invited to see what is behind the doors of its bright red Point Loma hostel with an Open House on May 8, 2008. 

The open house will start at 6:00 p.m., and a travel poetry reading will take place at 7:30 p.m., with original and classic poetry around the theme of travel.  Community members are invited to submit original poetry to the San Diego Council.

The Point Loma Hostel is located at 3790 Udall Street, San Diego, CA.  The Open House will feature international cuisine, music and tours of the hostel. HI-USA, San Diego Council Board members and staff will also be available to answer questions about Hostelling International. Admission is $10, including dinner and a chance to win door prizes.

Travel Poetry Reading

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,   
And sorry I could not travel both  
And be one traveler, long I stood 
And looked down one as far as I could  
To where it bent in the undergrowth;                

Then took the other, as just as fair,         
And having perhaps the better claim,     
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;          
Though as for that the passing there      
Had worn them really about the same,   

And both that morning equally lay          
In leaves no step had trodden black.      
Oh, I kept the first for another day!           
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,  
I doubted if I should ever come back
