Help HI-San Diego celebrate Hostelling International's 100th Anniversary!

If a picture is worth a thousand words - what do your travel photos say? Your photo can help tell Hostelling International's story in our 2009 Hostelling International 100th Anniversary Calendar. We are looking for travel photos to represent our vision - " Hostellers become caring world citizens who are catalysts for intercultural exchange and understanding, and who are stewards of the earth. " Entry is only $10 per photo.  Best of all, by entering the contest, you will automatically receive a free 2009 calendar by mail!  

 

 

 


Entering is easy:

1. Pay $10 submission fee
2. Submit photo to programs@sandiegohostels.org

2009 Calendar Contest Rules

  • All entries must be in color, horizontal layout, no bigger than a 4 by 6-inch photograph and must be a travel photo representing our vision.

  • We also accept digital photos, but require well-focused, sharp images that are 200 dpi (dots per inch) or larger and in JPEG (JPG) or TIFF format.

  • Unfortunately, we cannot accept Polaroid photos or copyrighted/professional photographs.

  • We cannot return your photos and for clarity and quality photo reproduction, please do not stamp or write on the back of photos. Photos become the property of the Hostelling International USA, San Diego Council and may be be used in other San Diego Council publications and website.

All entries that meet these requirements and are postmarked by September 13, 2008 will be included in the 2009 Calendar Contest.  Winners will be notified by phone, mail, or email and the calendar will be available in November 2008. 

All entries will be blind-judged by a panel of Hostelling International staff and volunteers, with the top photos featured in the calendar. All photos will be placed on the website after October 1, 2008.

We will also auction off opportunities to have your travel photograph featured in the calendar (including the cover photo) at our Annual Meeting and Party on Saturday, September 13. For more information on this event, click here.
