Midnight Madness Schedule
The event will be held regardless of weather conditions. Sorry, no refunds.
8 p.m. - Registration Check-in and t-shirt pickup will begin in the south parking lot of the San Diego County Administration building. If you received a ride bib in the mail, you must bring it to the event. Ralph Elliott and Z-90.3 will provide music, contest commentary, announcements and entertainment throughout the evening.
10 p.m. - Contests This year’s raffle, "REI" Light the Bike and "Alaska Airlines" Costume Contests will take place before the ride. Be sure to arrive early to participate in the contests. For the "Alaska Airlines" Costume Contest, wear your craziest costume, wildest pajamas or most absurd cycling apparel for your chance to win one of many fabulous prizes. Light up yourself and your bike to participate in the "REI" Light the Bike Contest. A select panel will judge the contests, and prizes will be awarded in multiple categories. Midnight - Ride The ride starts at midnight from the south parking lot of the San Diego County Administration Building. You must have a bib number, helmet and bike light to participate. Course maps will be available onsite and volunteers will be stationed along the route.

Starting Point
The ride starts at Midnight at the South side of the San Diego
County Administration building at 1600 Pacific Highway, San Diego CA 92101.
Parking
& Directions
Plenty of free on-site parking is available in the north lot of
the County Administration building at 1600 Pacific Highway. From I-5 South:
Exit Sassafras Street (airport exit). Stay on Kettner boulevard; turn right
(west) on Laurel Street; turn left (south) on Pacific Highway; pass Grape
Street; turn right into the north parking lot. From I-5 North: Exit
Hawthorne Street and turn left (west) on Hawthorne; turn left (south) on
Pacific Highway; pass Grape Street; turn right into the north parking lot.
Accommodations
If you will be staying overnight, we recommend that you contact
one of our two fine hostels in San Diego. Call early as rooms fill up
quickly during the summer. Call 619-525-1531 for HI-San Diego, Downtown

Event T-Shirt
The limited edition 34th Annual Midnight Madness t-shirt
features full color art screened on a 100% cotton tee. One shirt is
included with paid registration (add $2 for XXL).
How to Register
Registration opens on June 11, 2007.A registration form with signed waiver and an entry fee are required of every participant. Tandem riders must purchase one entry for each rider. A parent or legal guardian must sign the waiver for participants under 18 years of age. Paid registration includes a 100% cotton t-shirt, admission to contests and festivities, participation in the ride, a goodie bag, and safety support. Please arrive well before 10 p.m. if you would like to participate in or watch the contests.
Online Register online at www.active.com through noon August 17, 2007. Pay by Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. You will pick up your ride bib the night of the event at the Active.com booth.
Mail-in Please follow the instructions and note the deadlines at the top of the registration form (will be available online by June 11, 2007). If we receive your entry by August 8, 2007, your ride bib will be mailed to you and you must bring it to the event. Otherwise, please pick up your bib at will-call.
Event Night Come to the registration booth. You will need to fill out the registration form, sign the waiver, and pay entry fees by cash, check or money order.
Volunteer Opportunities
Energy and enthusiasm are that is required to join other volunteers in a quest to make the best 2007 the best Midnight Madness ever! We need volunteers to pitch in before, during and after the ride. There are countless opportunities both on and off the bike! All volunteers will receive a Midnight Madness t-shirt. Join in, we need your help!. - You must have a bib number, helmet and bike light to participate in Midnight Madness. Taillights are highly recommended.
- Remember, this is a fun ride, not a race. Riders must obey all traffic laws. Be courteous to other cyclists. Pass on the left. Slower cyclists must stay to the right. Sag Wagon support for disabled bikes and riders will be provided.
- A rest stop on Shelter Island will offer water and restrooms.
- Be sure your bicycle is in good working condition. Check tires for air, check brakes, cables, etc. Minor bicycle repairs will be available on-site courtesy of Zumwalt’s.
- Only registered participants will be allowed in the event staging area and entertainment areas. Event organizers, volunteers, sponsors and affiliates are not responsible for the safety of unregistered persons joining in or interfering with the event. Please do your part to make this a great event for everyone.
